hey guys, I am Taking my rear leafs off my 89 ranger 4x4 in to be re-arced and add a leaf because the back end is squatting and i can haul no weight. I no the back end will sit up a little so I want to level it out. I was looking in the tech library and saw the washers idea, now when you install this those washers they will sit on top of the cup on the lower coil mount leaving a gap underneath correct, is this ok. Also has anybody tried making spacers out of hockey pucks. I was thinkin of cutting a large whole out of the first one to fit over that cup, then another with a whole drilled for the stud on top. Any other ideas. Thanks

Hockey pucks would be a bad idea. The rubber is not ment to be subjected to a constant strain/load like the wieght of the vehicle. They would crack and split and fall out.

The washers are supposed to go UNDER the lower spring seat, raising it up.

Agreed, stay away from hockey pucks. While some may get away with using them for bodylifts, they will not work under the coils.

Also, instead of doing all that with the rear springs, just throw a pair of 4-dr Explorer springs under there. Those will give you that little bit of lift & load carrying you're looking for.

You can also use the factory spacers from a 2wd F-150 for about 1.5" if that's not more than you're looking for.
