4.9l in a 97 ranger?

Anyone know if a 4.9l 300 I6 would fit in a 97 ranger, I always wanted to try it in my old truck but never got around to it, and I am hoping to find another 97 ranger to try it on.
 
You can, but it is a tight fit. There are better engines you could swap in for less work.
 
ok, might have to look at some other choices, I just like the relaibility of the 4.9 and have never seen one in a ranger yet, I am sure someone has done it but thought it would be nice to have something a little different. maybe I will have to try some sort of v8
