So in the process of searching for another 2.9 to sacrifice to the hungry jaws of my truck I found this-

http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/pts/912583756.html

I looked and really couldn't find much on it. Apparently a few have been fit in old Land Rovers and maybe Dodge D50s and were more common in boats. They are about 3 liters. I was curious to see if anybody knew much else on them.

I don't have the money right now, but that's right in my hometown.. I wonder if I know who is selling that...

The bolt pattern is different from my FM, so I'd need a new tranny and fuel system as well. I guess I'm really not planning on doing it, but I was curious nonetheless.

Thanks.

2.2 liters, non turbo. The trannys for those diesels are super rare.

Ok, that helps. A buddy was also doing some research and he came up with 137 HP and 277 # Ft.

There is no way that engine is making those numbers, they make like 60 horse and 90 ft lbs for torque they are very slow

looks more like a skid-steer engine. I have one torn apart in the shop that's a perkins out of a late 80's Gehl skid loader and I think it's around 40 hp. Looks to be about the same thing.
