OK so today i was going threw some mud that put me in an irrigation ditch. after getting out my trans stopped working and my "od off" light kept flashing. i checked the fluid and it was good and no signs of water. It started working again but wont shift from 1st to 2nd unless i go to 40 in 1st let off the gas and wait 4 seconds then it shifts to 2nd, but wont shift to 3rd or 4th. so im going to pull all the wiring harness connectors tomorrow and clean them out. if that wont fix the problem, what else should i check?

man wish i could help... I have already been through six rebuilds in my 99' 3.0L
it could be something serious or as easy as the speedo in the rear end, when it's flashing it needs to be taken somewhere and soon!

just cleaned out the trans connectors and loaded them up with grease got rid of the problem. i have 195,345 miles on my trans and its never been rebuilt. no i don't drive granny style. if you have the five speed auto cut the cat out and move it back along with the o2 sensor. huge problems with the cat being next to the servos they get crystallized and your trans burns up.

That's good it wasn't serious.

That can happen with mud. I drove my old Explorer through some, which set off a blinking OD off light. That went away the next day after everything dried off. I didn't have any drivability problems though.
