stock tac with v8

the back of my stock tac has an unused pin that says 8cyl
if i ground this pin will my tac work or do i have to cut the original
ground or do i leave that as well
 
thanks works like a dream
all i need now is exhaust and im done
funds are tight or it would have been done 4 weeks ago
cant wait
