So I had a 1993 ranger and I got a set of cloth seats from a 1997 explorer and swapped the tracks for my 60/40 bench to the new seats and everything was good.

I totaled that ranger and got me a 1998 ranger ex cab. I tried to do the same thing with my orig. seat tracks on my 60/40 split bench from the 98 with no luck! The tracks to not fit on the bottom of the explorer seat. So I grabbed the power seat tracks and got three bolts to match with the ranger pattern (have to drill out one new hole) but I'm upset that I thought I had this seat thing down.

What did I miss? Is there some simple fix that I can't find on this forum...?

Thanks all in advance!

Nothing on this issue?

Are the ex cab tracks different than reg cabs?
Why would the seat itself not bolt up to the extended cab tracks?

Just an update for anyone who cares.

After a lot of searching and playing it seems that explorer seats and ex-cab rangers have the exact same tracks.

Explorer seats will not bolt to ex cab ranger seat tracks, so the explorer seat tracks must be used.

My explorer seat tracks did not fit because of an accident or improper removal. After a little bit of bending and drilling they should work just fine.
