'04 Ranger front diff part number ?

I have an '04 ranger 4x4. I know I have a D35, but I was wondering if there is any way to know if it has an LS in it? The part number starts 3L54 and I know on 8.8's that would suggest a LS, just wondering if that applies to the D35 too.

No L/S were installed in the factory. The part number doesn't specify if there is a L/S equipped. There usually is another tag on the diff that'll say " 4L10" or " 3L55" or something similar. That also gives the gear ratio.

No, the last year for a front L/S in a RBV was way back in the mid-late '80s. I would say it's just a coincidence of numbers there.

With the fulltime spindles on your truck, a front L/S wouldn't be a good thing to have anyway (can cause a drifting or pulling sensation).
