302 V8 in my Ranger- Street Legal Issues and Other Questions..

Hey guys. I am currently in the process of buying my dream truck, a 1997 Ranger that I have been wanting for about 4 years now. The issue is this.. It has a 302 V8 out of an older year mustang and is not currently street legal. It is actually currently Green Stickered. I am going to add a windshield, lights, and all that fun stuff but its also missing all the smog equipment (Cat 02 sensor) So I will need that too. If anyone has a complete list of what I will need or a ball park price of what the smog stuff will cost I would appreciate it. Anyhow, I am from Las Vegas, NV and I am wondering if the law about the V8 is still the same there? I need this truck to be street legal, what are my options?

u ONLY need the explorer 5.0 v8 from a OBD2 year, thats ur ONLY option

sounds like a tough road for ya... a lot of states don't allow a swap that was not an option in the vehicle. maybe you could try to get some kind of "show car registration" haha i'm not even sure if such a thing exists tho

ya thats about the only thing. IN canada we can get a hot rod classed ETEST...you may try finding an option like that. Or maybe hes selling it becuase he has the same issue?
