I'm picking up an 89 in a couple days, so I'm trying to diagnose its more important problems (and order the parts) before I pick it up. Right now none of the dash lights come on when you turn the headlights on, but if you turn the dimmer all the way until the cab/bed light comes on, they light up. Bad dimmer switch?

sounds like your dimmer switch is hooped, if they light up with the interior light on then the bulbs and fuses are okay
