If any of you are going to be in the TX area Oct 6th and 7th be sure and attend to texas mile in Goliad...
A 1.5 mile runway with a radar trap, folks bring anything that passes a safety inspection and hold it wide-open for a mile (from a standstill) and use the remaiming .5 mile to get shut down.
Track record: 257 MPH!
I'm covering the event for the paper, and I've got permission this year to drive something (free) and/or ride with someone and take pictures. If I bring my Ranger I may run it for the heck of it.
