Belt Problems

I just replaced my alternaor and putthe belt back on,but when i started the truck the belt slipped off, and i believe the prolem is the tensioner, does anyone have tips on how to make the tensioner straighten the belt out.
 
the tensioner is automatic and non-adjustable. if its not working properly it needs to be replaced.

i would try installing the belt again though. theres a good chance you had the belt off a groove and it just spun off.
