1 - Does the 4405 transfer case have have neutral position?
2 - With the transfer case is 2HI - could the vehicle be towed with the front wheels on the ground with no damage to the transfer case and/or transmission?

Thanks for any help.

Allegedly there is some bizarre combination of control manipulations that along with sacrificing a goat (though some say a Virgin works better) at midnight on all Hallows eve
(You are in luck as that's only one month away) that will "Trick" the 44-05 into neutral.

other than that? remove the driveshaft before towing.

Or you could just look for towing instructions in the owners manual...
