I have an 84 ranger 4x4 with a Tk4 (4sp) and an 86 ranger 2wd with a TK5 (5sp), both trucks are complete. Can I put the 5sp transmission in the 84 4x4? Any input would be great.
 
This can only be done if you want to elimenate the 4wd. If you wish to keep 4wd, then you will need a 4wd transmission or convert your 2wd transmission to a 4wd transmission using parts off the 4wd transmission.
 
Right since I have 2 complete transmissions can I build one working one. Would it be more trouble then its worth? Thanks
 
How compatible are the back ends of these transmissions? I am also assuming I can swap out bellhousings and clutch parts in the front end correct?
