Here's the deal.

I plan on lifting my truck soon enough ... no more than 4" though.

But I desperately need new shocks ... like right now.

What would happen if I were to get shocks designed for a 4" lift, and run them on my stock truck during the winter, until I get a lift? Will I slam into the shock bumpstop (practically blowing through it) before the normal bumpstops?

If it's going to ruin them, I might as well get some cheapos for a couple months ...

You will destroy your shocks because they will be too long for the application.

You won't even be able to get the front lift shocks on a stock truck with them fully collapsed.

I agree with the other comments I'd suggest just getting some descent parts store shocks for the stock setup and waiting til you get into lifting the truck to get lift shocks.
