89 Ranger manual t case and auto hubs

Can I use a manual t case with auto hubs on my dana 28? If not can i swap to manual hubs from an earlier truck?

Yes and yes. Any earlier RBV that has 4WD has a Dana 28.

If you decide to swap to manual hubs you need the spindle nuts and lock washer too or the hubs won't fit.

DANGER! Yes, you can do this swap BUT. . . you must stop your truck completely before engaging the 4x4 - you can't shift "on-the-fly" with auto hubs and a manual transfer case - I'm not sure the reason, but that was the problem I had. I found out the hard way - the hubs won't engage completely if the truck is rolling. That was my experience anyway. Good luck!
