As the title states, I'm going to be installing The DJM 4/5 kit on my 01 Ranger. Anything in particular I need to look out for? Should I install the camber bolts in while I'm putting the kit on or just let the alignment shop take care of it? Do I need a spring compressor to take the stock front coils out or will the stock control arms allow them to drop out? Is there a right and left control arm? Thanks for the help in advanced!

start spraying soe of the bolts that look rusty or tight with something like PB blaster.

yes install the camber bolts when you put the new arm in. its simple and makes alignment easier, and faster.

to get the front coilsout put a jack under the lower control arm, remove the sway bar, and pop the ball joints out and hang the spindle out of the way. lower the jack and the spring comes right out.

you can see which arm goes on which side on the bottom, the bump stop goes to the front. the upper arms are symetrical.

as for things to watch out for, dont let anything hang by a brake line. be careful when taking out/installing springs, make sure the springs are seated in all the way. make sure the flip kit is installed facing the right way. and other than that enjoy. took me about 6hrs with 1 jack 4 jackstands and some hand tools.

does anyone have alignment specs for when the ranger is lowered. My alignment guy said that hes not sure if I'll want the alignment at factory specs. Anyone have any input on this?

If you do a bolt on drop, then the factory alignment specs can be achieved and give you a good alignment.

Mine is at the factory specs with no issues. the only reason I can see to not have anything factory settings on alignment would be if you needed some camber to clear the fenders at bump. but its not an issue as long as you dont try to run too little offset.

I got the truck lowered and all seems good. drives pretty good and doesn't handle that bad either. I am going to get an alignment either Saturday or Monday. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it. I'll have pics up as soon as its daylight.

cool i guess

Word dude. i have a 2" front and 3" rear drop kit coming in the mail. its nice, like others have said it needs roll pans ad a bangin system. also i would say loose those lame svt mustang wheels and get some 20" black rims. yours are kinda small... plus white paint with black rims, lights, ang tint would look clean as hell.
