so here's the deal... i was putting front brakes on my truck tonight ('94 2wd) and when i cut the wheel front on side to the other i walked around the truck and noticed power steering fluid that had sprayed EVERYWHERE. all over the truck fender, the floor, my tools, the wall, etc. after i cleaned up the mess and put on the new pads i started the truck and it seemed fine...knock on wood. nothing dripping from below. any thought on this? thanks!

sounds like you just blew fluid out the lil breather hole in the PS cap, i don't want to say it's normal, but it does happen. had this happen a couple times before. i just checked the fluid level and left it at that. never caused me any troubles.

If the engine was off when you turned the wheel, then the fluid came from the breather hole in the filler cap.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Yup. What they said. It is a nromal thing as long as it doesn't leak with the engine running!

thanks for the replies, i actually found another post on here about the same issue. it freaked me out because i've never had a vehicle do that before and the shiz was everywhere.

thanks yall I thought my power steering was going out too, when i went down a hill with it off and turning it sprayed ...I looked and looked for that leak but never could find it lol...thats a relief..
