my little brother has a 1990 ranger 4x4 STX with the high rider option which if im correct is a factory 2" lift. i want him to go through the front end and replace all the bushings and steering components as well as ball joints, u joints, and diff fluid so that we know he will be all set for winter. i already helped him get new shocks for the 2" lift which were rancho rs5000s. now we want to do the coil springs but i cant find any listings from rancho for a 2" lift and moog doesnt list or even acknowledge the fact that ford made a high rider edition. this is kind of annoying but i understand that not many people own a high rider so there is a big demand for these parts. please help me, hes got money to spend but no one seems to have what we need. oh yeah i work at a parts store so even if you guys only have part numbers i can use those too.
this truck was badly abused by its previous owners and we are trying to get it as close as possible to perfectly functional. when he got it someone hacked in a power brake controller, coil-over rear shocks, add a leafs, and an aftermarket sway bar. upon removing the add a leafs i found that the two lower springs were craked at the centering hole and those coil over shocks had turned into coil springs on sliding tubes. weve got the rear all squared away, we installed the H.D. leaf springs from LMC truck which stiffened up the rear and fitted the rear with above mentioned rancho shocks, but now the front end is super soft and is just plain worn out compared to the rigidity of the rear. looking at the ford service pamphlet from 1990 that was still in the glove box, the original owner of the truck had done every imaginable service not only on time, but on time every time for 6 consecutive years. then the log stopped. at this time the log said 95,000mi. the truck now only has 105,000mi and they were obviously a very hard 10,000 mi. but anyways im going to check into the skyjacker link posted above but keep the comments coming
