So I checked out Zombie fest, a 2 day camping wheeling meet on a private 125acre farm near Denver. It was fricken awesome. 2 serious mud bogs, car crawling course, rock garden, river crossings, ralley course competition, tons of wheeling obstacles and fun. Everything from lightly modified vehicles to serious rock crawling rigs were there. Huge bon fire/burning man, bbq, and different events, like blindfolded wheeling where your passengers have to guide you through the course. They also had trophys, a product toss, which included gift certificates to 4 wheel parts, and hooked up anyone who broke down with those as well. I didnt wheel, I played a little bit but spent most of my time cruising on my honda 50 with a tally of Keystone Ice in one hand and my camera(cell phone) in the other.

Last year they said only 12 people showed up. I counted at least 70 or 80 rigs there and I went late in the day Saturday. They want to do another party next year and I would advise going. It was a real laid back friendly atmosphere and the "zombies" seem like a cool 4x4 club. Too many J**ps and not enough (any) FORDs there to represent. If you want to see more pics check out colorado4x4.org as thats how I found out about the meet, or just go next year and see for yourself.

you bet man. it was torture.

That scout was a really capable rig probably on at least 38's but the driver got it stuck way too many times making poor choices. Then he stalled it out trying to climb a 8ft vertical sand bar that even the rockcrawlers were having trouble with(one of them lost a driveshaft on his 2nd or 3rd try). But yeah Ive always liked scouts. There were several other breakdowns and one guy lost a steering knuckle somewhere along the river....that looked like a fun recovery.
