has anyone swapped a 4.0 into an earlier ranger w/2.8? im only getting 14 mpg and has no pwer just over 100 thousand miles..have 6 inch lift and 32's

what gears are you running? 32s are a little big if they are stock

well if your an 89 im pretty sure you have a 2.9, that makes for an easy swap. im doin a 4.0 swap into my 84 with a 2.8 right now. Lots of stuff to redo like fuel lines, wiring, fuel tank and pump, and other small stuff

Yeah, if it's an '89, you'll have the 2.9, unless someone dropped a 2.8 in there :icon_confused:

Swapping a 4.0 is rather simple, You'll need the Motor, Accessories, ECU, Wiring Harness, Fuel Lines(maybe) and Tranny(advised), Clutch/TQ Converter, whichever applies
