Checked the coil, plugs, wires and still getting misfire at idle. The check engine light will flash for a while and then go off. Could this be an injector?
Anyone had this problem?

2004 Ranger. I dont have the codes on hand i had them read at shop and the book just listed a ton of stuff to check. It only happens at idle too, check engine light never starts flashing at speed. Thats whats taking me towards the injector metering maybe at idol?

could be an injector...but it could be a lot of things. it would help to know what the code is.

you can try swapping the injectors around and see if the problem remains in the same cylinder, or follows the injector.

Change the injector to a different position. If the misfire moves with it than get a new injector. But also check the Crank Position sensor. You can repace it Yourself and it goes for about $25.00. Also erease the codes for You may have a bunch of them to be in the history memory. Clean it up. and run the truck for a while and see what codes come up.
