yeah i clicked on a link started by "escastfoeks" that crashed my GODDAMN harddrive. someone needs to put up better firewalls to prevent crap like that from happening. i spent over an hour cleaning up my stuff and i ain't sure if i got it all :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :temper: :temper: :temper:
 
I deleated them as soon as I saw them... I always check post count, and then the info filled in under their username. If they have one or two posts and bullshit info DO NOT click on any links.

We can only spot them when they are reported, and or we see them when browsing.

If someone wants you to click on something, don't. Go only where you want, not where someone wants you to. :D That's my #1 rule of thumb.

That, and if you get a javascript pop-up box, go into the tack manager and kill the process. The code is supposed to be like:

if (confirm("Click 'OK' to add this to your favorites!"))
{
/* Code to add to favorites */
}

But can easily be written as:
confirm("Click 'OK' to add this to your favorites!");
/* Code to add to favorites */

So no matter what you click, you're screwed.

yeah i thought it was gonna be like one of those funny joke catagory deals, only the joke was on me, people wonder why i have a bad attitude towards people in general. don't get me wrong, i like people, i just can't stand to be around them for too long

Did you notice if there was a pattern to the email address? I was to ban @gmail.com emails because I get a lot of spam from them.
 
Seems like this happens every once in a while. It's pretty quiet except for a few spam posts here and there then all the sudden boom! 20 spam threads started within minutes of each other.
 
the spammer had pibid.net as an email, which based on a google search seems like a common spammer address

edit - tons of ppl here have gmail addresses though. even my TRS email redirects to my gmail account
 
No problems on my end. Thou 2x firewalls and Norton helps alot.
