Hi,
What is the best degree to set the timing at on a turbo 2.3 out of an '86 Merkur? The book I have says to go by the sticker under the hood, which went to the crusher with the donor I got the engine from.
Thanks,
Josh

generally it is set at 10* btdc. but bumping timing about 2-3* advanced will pick up some power, just listen for detonation if you do that.

The Merk uses 13* factory spec. But I think they have a litte different gasoline in Germany, maybe not. I always used 10* with no problems and didn't notice a difference in 3*. If you use 13* keep boost stock.:)shady
