bed bolt sizes and where to buy

So the bed is ready to go back on, but I'm banging my head off the wall trying to find fasteners.

I just ordered a bunch of bolts and u nuts from mcmaster carr just to find the clips are a hair too short.

What size are the stock pieces, and does anyone know where to find them?

Figured I'd update this for future use/searches...

After trying several dealers and hearing $10-13 for one clip and $8-12 for one bolt, I quickly went a different route.

Out of the 6 bolts, only the front two require the use of a speed nut (due to access and the shape of the frame there).

I managed to clean up and salvage two of my original nuts, I put a hearty blob of stick red grease in and on those.

For the bolts I got 2 M12-1.75 x120 mm all thread stainless bolts from McMaster Carr.

These bolts are not much weaker then the original grade 5 hardware.

For the rear 4 bolts I used 1/2" x 3.5" grade 8 nuts and bolts from Tractor Supply. They have some nice big grade 8 fender washers to go with them too.

I figure grade 8 is overkill, but should more than help make up for using the weaker stainless bolts up front.

And to add, T55 is the correct size torx bit for removing the stock bolts. Buy two, you'll likely break one.

I just took my bed off again to do the front spring supports. When I took it off last year to do the rear hangers I put never seize on the threads cause,I knew sooner or later I would have to pull it off again. The bolts came right out. So I just added more before I put them back in hopefully I wont need to pull it off again but i know They will come out easy.

Same here ... it was +$150 to reattach my bed to the frame with new "Ford" hardware or $10 from Menards.

When I did my did my leaf spring hangers, half of the bolts/speed nuts were rusted beyond usefulness and the rest snapped. Regular 3/8" nuts/washers/bolts will work for all 6 of the connection points except for the one above the gas tank (driver's side front corner). I used standard 3/8" hardware at the right lengths (rear 4 bolts are shorter, 2 front are longer?), and made my own speed nut with some folded over flat stock, drill press, welder, and a nut for the problematic one above the tank.
