ARB's FRONT and REAR! D44 and Ford 9" Will Not Disengage!?!

I just finished installing the compressor and running new Rubicon Express SS lines! With the set up completed I discovered that after engaging both the lockers, neither will "Disengage" after each has been shut off!!

Even with the compressor off the lockers still stay locked! The only way to get them to sucessfully disengage is to disconnect the lines either at the axle bulkhead or the compressor!

My thought is the solenoids are NOT allowing enough "purge" to completely disengage the lockers.

I followed everything step by step so I can not for the life of me figure out what I might have done wrong.... if anything!

No oil is traveling back through the line so I'm confident that is not it! ie. axle breathers not breathing.

My focus is leaning towards possibly "faulty" solenoids, but I have no real way of knowing or testing! When shutting off the front ARB you can clearly hear the "purge", just not enough air is released to disengage.....

Anyone with any info that migh help solve this issue?

On a possitive note, the lockers are engaging! Although I can't seem to get the REAR locker to engage without engaging the front as well! This just doesn't seem to make sense to me? Shouldn't the Rear engage on its own?

Any info provided will be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you got the front & rear solenoid wiring connections reversed (the front is supposed to require engaging the REAR before it will operate).

As for them not releasing, are the solenoids installed with the valve in the right direction? Without looking at a diagram, I would say maybe they're reversed here too.

I ended up caling ARB on the matter!

you called it junkie! Both solenoids were mounted in the wrong direction! An easy mistake to make as per instructions I haven't yet been able to find where it explains this! Being new to this doesn't help either!

Negative on the connections being wrong! I had it correct! Because the solenoids were backwards and I was just releasing air out the purge, and not through the lines! It wasn't until I had both switches (switch 1 and than switch 2) activated that the system became sealed! Making both lockers lock...... When disengaged, i merely purged the tank.. rather than the lines purging, the lockers stayed locked!

Everything is working perfectly and a trip has been scheduled for this weekend! Looking forward to testing out the SAS setup!

(sorry for the post delay, been out of town) I've been doing fine (thanks for asking). The ol' BII's still hanging in there no prob ('cept for bashing in the passengerside door & part of the rear qtr. on a rock the other day though, guess I should've made the rocksliders stick out more oh well :icon_twisted: )

Anyway, hope the SAS worked out good for ya.
