1994 engine and tranny swap question

I'm swapping both my 4.0 engine and my mazda transmission, to a rebuilt 4.0 and also converting the manual transmission to a auto. I need help if any body has some ideas for how to shift the new auto trans without switching the steering column

The only thing I could think of would be to find a floor shifter and make your own linkages. I think that'd be about you only way.

Are you not wanting to swap the column becuase you don't have another one, or becuase you just don't want to?

well I can get my hands on a new column, but I was hoping for a little simple fix
