Does anyone know what the towing capacity is for a 1994 4.0l V6 B4000 with an auto tranny? Can't seem to find any info out there about this and I don't have the owner's manual. I know that stock it has about 160hp and about 213tq. I am looking to tow about 4500lbs. Thanks.

not sure what it is but my 91 explorer (identical powertrain) handled 5000 pound on a regular basis with no problems.......... if you are talking an RV then wind drag is a worse issue....... wind drag made my 1600 pound aerolight seem like it weighed 10,000 pounds @ 65 mph......... then I was having problems. Even towed a 77Jeep J-10 on a dolly and it weighed over 6000 pounds, just went slow

Towing capacity

4x2 regular cab/cab plus w/automatic tranny, (4.0L)
W/3.08 rear axle ratio 6000 lbs, W/3.55 rear axle ratio 9500 lbs.

4x4 regular cab/cab plus w/automatic tranny,
W/3.27 rear axle ratio 7500 lbs, W/3.73 rear axle ratio 9500 lbs.
Straight out of the owners manual. Thank goodness p/o left it in the truck!:icon_thumby:

wow 9500lbs, I think you made a mistake there the most I've ever seen a ranger rated at was 6000lbs.
