for those of you that have swapped in a 8.8 (or run the stock 7.5) the rough measurements of a exploder shaft are 16inchs weld to weld from the rear yoke on the shaft to the weld before the slip joint. just figured i would put that out there if anyone is backyard fabricating one or wants a spare. the 7.5s require a different flange than the ones that came on a exploder.

Maurice got a flange that fit a 1310 u-joint, but had the bolt pattern of the Explorer rear end flange. I think he paid $25 from a drive line shop.
