Does anyone know where I can get a complete/better wiring diagram for my 1988 2.9L Auto? I've got a Haynes manual, but the wiring diagrams in there are...weak at best. (Or can somebody post a pdf /jpg of the diagram??) Thx!

The vehicle specific EVTM manuals from Helm Inc. are pretty helpful. I think they run about 25 bucks. I have that manual for '88, but I can't/won't copy due to legal reasons.

What does EVTM stand for?
I completely understand legal reasons, I was only asking 'cause for my 78 280z, I was able to find one floating online for it last year (actually a dealer service manual, but that had the diagrams in it of course).

Electrical Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual.
All of the Ford Dealerships have them. They will make copies for you for free if you ask nicely
. But it's really nice to have the actual manual, it lays out where a lot of the electrical connections actually are.

You can often get both the EVTM and the factory wiring diagram off E-bay.
The EVTM is good for functional diagrams and sort-of for connector locations, the factory diagram for physical (i.e., it tells you which harnesses each of the wires lives in). In general, you need both.
Later EVTMs are more useful than earlier ones. The 1986 EVTM I used to have was barely useful. The 1991 I have now is substantially better.
I won't do business with Helm. They are often REPRINTS, and they screw up. I bought the 1986 chassis shop manual from them, and if you wanted anything in Group 12 (brakes), you were SOL.

Wow, that'd be swell. Even though I insist (for whatever reason, probalby just pride and cheapness) on doing all my own repair work and would not normally frequent a dealership, I may have to pay my local Fomoco dealer a visit. That sounds like a swell manual.
Interesting. I've bought 2 and never had an issue, but I'll keep that in mind the next time I need one. I did get the '93 factory shop manual off of Ebay for $30. It was is pretty much new condition, but you never know what to expect.. I've usually gotten great deals, but I've been screwed over a couple of times.
