Where to begin...

Coleman was made all in itself, you will need to find a coleman dealer to get any parts... No other dealer will have them.

The canvases are the most expensive part, around $1300 to replace the whole thing. The propane tank will most likely need to be changed out and recertified. There was a mandatory valve change in 2002. If it's not been done, it cannot be filled.

Check the floor for rotting. Also check the operation of the crank mechanism, they are a PITA to work on if you don't know what your doing.

It is also overpriced, offer the $1000

hehe, yeah, I'd agree most things Coleman are junk. Just kinda lookin around so I'll probably pass on this one, my budgets about $1000 to $3000, and that includes money for repairs/accessories/etc.
thanks

you can still fill tanks with the older valve, you just have to find a place with the adapter (or get one of your own). i filled the all-original tank in my parents '76 chinook motorhome all the time for the 6 months i had it...and the '60-'70 something towmotor forklift we had at the napa i worked at had an even older, weirder valve that required yet another adapter.

Well your right.. I could fill your tanks.. But when the $10,000 fine gets put on ME (the person who knowingly fills it) I would have to send you a bill.

There is a reason they changed the designs. The old valves coul easily be overfilled and once the ambient temperature would rise the gas would have no where to expand, therefore it would shoot out of the back of the valve with no means of shutting it off.

It's all on you if you want to take the risk.

Forklift, anything over 50# capicity, and motorhome mounted tanks are exempt from the law.
