c5 lost reverse

My c5 in my 84 b2 lost reverse, i backed out of my driveway (going to the store), it clunked hard and I kept reversing just fine then I came out of the conveinience store and no reverse.

What the hell happened?

Do you know how hard it would be to fix (i've never been into an auto tranny), and how expensive are the parts? Thanks for the help.

Or the band was way out of adjustment and the servo slipped off the band... drop the pan, drop the valve body, and take a look.
 
Alrighty then, sounds like a plan.
It will be easy since its been sitting for a while and the pan is warped so all the atf is on the driveway, where can i get a new pan?
 
Off of another RBV 4x4 C5...

If it's a street rig, you could use a car C4/C5 pan, and a car C5 filter. C4 pans are available new..
 
well it definately is off road at times, i guess i'll have to fix it myself. The j-yard pokes holes in anything that doesnt have a drain plug.
