Hey guys I had an idea floating in my head for a while and wanted your alls opinion on it. I have a 91 ex sport, and was thinking of a home brew lift for it. Ok so I wanted to know if it was possible to get an 8.8 rear out of a 4.0 ranger with 4.10 gears and a trac-lock in it out of a newer ranger to bolt in place of my 8.8 in my ex. This will give me the lower gears, newer trac-lock (better condition than mine) and the soa all together all factory (no gear/welding work). Then just get a 4.10 D-35 carrier/housing and 4 in. ttb lift off someone in the parts for sale forum. What do you guys think?

Do it

For off road purposes, I really suggest extended shackles in the rear. They free up tons of flex in the rear. Stock, worn out springs, have tons of potential for flex.

Maybe you're in order for some Chebby63s

Just remember the little unexpected costs. They add up. For sure
