OK, Mazda 5 speed is in replacing the blown A4LD. Did a search and can't find anything on wiring changes needed. Truck is an 89 2.9L Ranger 4x4 w. manual transfer case.

My 5 pin plug to the old auto trans has the colors: red w. wht. stripe, red w. blue stripe, pink, black w. purple stripe, and purple w. orange stripe.

I would like to know where these go as well as any other jumping or rerouting that is needed. Any help is appreciated.

pimtool,

Thanks for your comments which are a good place to start. The auto trans swap article in the tech section has all different color coded wires than what I got.

Anyone know which wires are which?:dntknw:

Think I figured it out, but am concerned that one of the wires may go to the computer and fry it if I'm wrong. Any problem there, or is it safe to try to match them.

That is what I did. I would find hot wires and match them up with the wires that were not until the back up lights come on, Then wired them to the switch. Make sure your vehicle is in neutral and parking brake is applied, because I think I touched the wrong ones and the motor cranked. Scared the shit out of me. I dont think I hurt anything still runs fine.
