my fuse on side of my dash has popped a few times recently. (fuse 27) tranny seems to be working fine but cant select to shut o/d off until i replace the fuse. if i change the fuse while its running it seems to work fine. i did that then parked it for the night and it was blown again the next day.
yesterday i was playing around with it and i took the steering column apart to look for a fray in the wire going to the button but didnt see anything.
i put a fuse back in and started it up and shut it off a few times and it seems to work. when the fuse is blown the tranny works fine i just cant shift out of o/d until i replace the fuse. could their be a simple solution.
any advise would be greatly appreciated.

and by the way, the thread about the blend door fix was great. i had that problem and wasnt about to get into paying someone to pull it apart. i was just gonna deal with hot and cold but that was a great fix. thank you guys for this site.

The wire from the shifter can and does break internally and short out, blowing the fuse. Take the covers off the steering column and give the shifter wire a good tug near the base. If it's broken, it'll come apart.

you know what i think that was it because i took the column apart a few days ago and moved the wire around a bit and since then i put a fuse in it and havent had a problem since. thanks for the info
