I have a 2000 Ranger, 4 wheel drive, xlt extended cab, 3.0l 182CID V6, 4 spd. auto (4R44E)
I want to put an electric locker in the front and i cant tell what kind of diff i have. the coverplate for the diff is right up against a crossmember and i cant read the lettering. I need to know the spline ratio and gear ratio (i think its 4.10:1) can anyone help? thanks.

the front is a dana 35. you can find out the gear ratio by looking at the rear axle code on your drivers door sticker and comparing it to the list in the tech library.

Thanks for the reply... So the front is a dana 35. im assuming it has 27 spline axles because thats all that eaton lists for front dana 35. I know the back is a ford 8.8 with 3.55 gears but i dont know the spline ratio. Its either 28 or 31 spline. anyone know?

If your rear is 3.55 gearing, your front gear ratio's will be the same from the factory.
