so i'm gonna be starting on a front four link/sas sometime in the near future and nead an outside opinion. pretty sure i'll be using a full width dana 44 or something similar to it

option 1: fox coilover shocks with custom top and axle mounts
ortion 2: using lift springs and fabricating/moving the axle spring perch

not sure what kind of spring mounts are on a dana 44

even though its a pain to get you spring rate correct on coilovers, its well worth it. Fox is the way to go... better than Bilsteins, Kings or Stayaways.

just waiting on my lower control arm brackets and johnny joints from Ballistic Fab and im set.

Fox is a good shock but its not "better" then then the others you mentioned. Sway Away has stepped up the products like you wouldn't believe. You want a good shock with the tightest tolerances in the business you go with Radflo shocks. Setting up the spring rate is the easy part. Valving them is the tricky part for most people.

For a solid axle trail vehicle valving is a mute point. A "basic" valving setup will work great, no need to go crazy with it like that of a high speed rig.

Your right you dont have to go crazy with the valving like a desert truck, but you can improve the the valving for a more comfortable ride. The spring rate is still the easy part for what he is doing.
