i searched all thru this site before i joined and posted this question. can somebody take a picture of the in-line spout connector and show me what it looks like and were it is. i have looked for it and still cant find it. this is a 86 2.3 thanks

On the 86 its in one of the harnesses towards/around the battery. May be in a loom.:)shady

i tore thru the harness near the batt. nothing there. i did find this under the intake.

the spout connector is located near the ignition module. on early fords, these were mounted right on the side of the dizzy...later models up near the core support (for better cooling). as you can see, the spout connector is a jumper that simply unplugs...taking active control of ignition timing away from the ignition module.

i traced down the yellow/green wire from the dist. i found that was the wire that the spout was in. about have way to the batt, there was a butt splice in that wire with some slack in it. my sister bought this truck new and i know it has not been messed with much. i think some body who worked on it may have cut it out or it never had a spout like some others on the net i have found. i will find out when i put the head back on and try timeing it. thanks and will post result when running. tracy

Not on an 86 unless the harness has been changed. It is on the right side of the truck as I stated above.:)shady

the truck is up and running. the wire i found was the correct wire.i traced it all the way to the fire wall. when it is unhooked the timeing changes. when plugged back in it advances.truck runs great. thanks for all the help
