Which transmission do you have? FM146 or M5OD?

Yes Mercon IV ATF. It should hold around 2.5 quarts, add until it comes out the hole.

Umm, if the owners' manual differs from what we say, the owners' manual wins.
And you fill it until it's full. NOT based on a spec.

Mercon IV ? :icon_confused:
Use "Mercon" fluid (nowadays it has names like "Dex/Merc" or "Domestic Vehicle ATF" on the bottle (stating that it meets the Mercon specification).
Don't put Mercon V in that though, the shift quality may be degraded if you do

Damnit my bad, all these ATFs have got me confused, I can always just remeber not to use use Mercon V, the correct stuff is marked Dex/Merc as you said.
