I have a 1996 taurus 3.0 distributorless with a bad engine and a 1992 tempo with a good 3.0 distributor engine. will the tempo engine work in the taurus and what would I have to do to make it work.
you'll need to re-use almost everything from your ranger. the only parts you want from the tempo is the block, heads, and valve covers. you should also change the head gaskets (fwd and rwd applications flow coolant in opposite directions, which is achieved using different head gaskets). you'll need to use the rangers accessory brackets, all sensors and wiring, exhaust, etc.
