A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
Yeah, Ford stealerships will sell you one for a whopping $48... Mazda will save you $9 for the same belt with different logos painted on it.

But where do you get a name brand 3rd party replacement? 89.5 inches comes too close to the end of the wear-band on the tensioner.

Gates, who make both belts and tensioners, recommend replacing the tensioner whenever you change the belt, LOL, imagine that.

They claim vibration and "fluctuations" wear out the tensioner. :fie:

I just used a Gatorback belt, but I do not remember the length as I bought it a couple years ago.

I do know that the aftermarket tensioner pullies are not the same as the OE (backspacing is off a little bit), but Ford only sells complete tensioner assemblies for $200 (just an FYI).

You can use the cheaper Napa belt, part # 6k882. Should cost about $26.50. The better Napa one is around $50.

98 3.0 w/ac. got belt from napa. no probs.

Thanks, luckily that puppy is 88.87", not the 88.2 implied by its part number... might do it...

Got a 89.5" Gatorback on there now, right at the end of wear band when cold... some days it squeaks, others it's quiet... bee-yatch.

im also running a napa belt with no problems. also running the original (as for as i know) 130,000 mile tensioner.

Never saw a tensioner go bad until I changed the belt on the wife's car....

The belt would probably have lasted a good while longer but I changed it anyway. I could loosen the old tensioner with just my hand to change the belt LOL....combination of weak spring and pivot with too much friction.
