I just got a 1988 ranger short bed ranger 2.3 with 5 speed for 200 dollars.....I have bee collecting 2.3 turbo parts for 6 years and have enough to build a killer turbo...including a big valve " D " port head and a bob logs exhaust header and gutted upper and lower intake with a 1995 cobra throttle body conversion and a LA3 ecm......I need advice...I have a 1985 SVO and 4 Turbo coupes for parts...which tranny and I want a 8.8 disk brake from a explorer, what year explorer?

i dunno about the rest, but the disk 8.8s came in the 95-01 explorers(all of them) hope that helps.

Jim,
Take a look at this link, lots of information on swapping rearends.
http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Explorer8_8.html

Most people swapping over to a turbo engine run the T5 out of the turbo coupe. Being that you have 4 turbo coupes, I would go with that. Sounds like you have everything needed to build a pretty nice truck.
You can look at RPS and turboford.org for more information on turbo swaps
