Has anyone ever tried to fab in an 80's-90's Mustang front subframe? The little bit of research I have done appears to be feasable for a nice v-8 swap with better front suspension. I know it would be a whole lot of work but I like a challange.

You would have a whole lot less money in some V8 motor mounts for the ranger (if that is what you are talking about). You would have more money in swapping the sub frame from a unibody car into the ranger. You would have more money in it than the truck is worth.

I have been a welder/fabricator for about 10 years and as far as money I realize that it would not be cheap but I am more going for the independant front suspension and a little lower engine mounting location. I am not concerned with the price as much as the functionality.

Its possible, a lot of people put IFS on their older street trucks. Usually its the Mustang II setup though.
