so you guys with V8 rangers i got some questions. is the swap really worth it? the stock running gear an such like axles do they hold up? i got a 35 an 7.5 an i guess over all 1-10 how hard is the swap?

If you are dropping a stock 1970s turd in, no its not worth it. If you put a good mild 302 in you'll like it. Most likely you will grenade the 7.5 rear. As far as how hard, it depends on your skills, the drivetrain you want to use and so on. If you are pretty witty, you can do it with basic tools, a drill, grinder, and without a welder. I did a basic swap with a mild 351 at first and pulled it for the stroker I have now. I'm pulling that as soon as the combo listed in my sig is ready.

I think if you put a healthy 302 in, mabey a cam, intake, stuff like that you will be very pleased... For how hard the project is, Id say putting the motor in is the easy part, its all the stuff that hooks up to the motor thats the hard part... I spent about 5 hours just trying to get my lower rad hose to fit because you just cant walk in to NAPA and say you need one for a 5.0 ranger. Its not really that hard it just takes some patients. I think putting fuel injection in is a little harder then a carb but.... if i had it to do over again mine would be fuel injected(will be soon)
