First of all I would like to say hi!
I was refered to this site by a friend encouraging me that the Ranger enthusiasts hung out here.
a little back story for everyone.
I bought the 95/3.0L about 1.5 years ago with 230K on it. I've gotten it up to 265k, replaced the entire suspension system including rear brackets for the leafs. The entire exhaust has been replace up to the Catalytic.
All and all its been a superb little truck for my needs.
The truck has always had a small problem while decelerating from 70km - 60KM, trying to grab the lower gear always showed a little slipping. I was not overly concerned about this until today.
Today however on my way to work I was travelling at 80kmh when it decided it wanted to try and grab a different gear. Popped in and out of gear 5 times and finally even itself out.
I'm sure I have a piece of metal flying through the transmission or a problem with my rear differential.
Long Story short, I'm going to more than likely require a rebuild on the transmission or to drop a used one in it. (I have not checked the pan for metal yet, I just got to work)
My questions for anyone who can answer them are.
1) Can I buy a rebuid kit?
2) Can I buy a rebuild kit in Canada?
3) Can you recommend a place for used/new transmissions for this model?
-To above question (Can they ship to Canada? Do you know local stores in my area?)
4) What years of my truck, different models of truck hold the same transmission? Maxda B4000?
Rangers 3.0L from 93 - 96?
As you can tell I'm tearing my hair out of my head.
Any information that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
