help????

hi i have a 95 ford ranger with a 105000 miles i got in it yesterday and put it in reverse and it almost stalled so i tried it again and it went but when i was driving down the rode it would shift weird like 3rd gear to 1st gear then i would have to let of the gas to upshift if anybody has any ideas i would appreciate it. also the o/d light was blinking

If it is stalling into reverse, or acting like it, it could be a torque converter problem. The flashing O/D light is telling you something, like pimtool suggested, pull the codes.

i was having the same problem in my 95. as for the sputtering i replaced my MAF sensor! try cleaning it first there is a how to in the tech library! for the shifting dont know what to tell you im having a similar type problem in mine so if you find out let me know
