90 reg cab tranny fit 90 ext cab?

hey fellas, i need help. i think my tranny is going out. can any of you tell me if the manual tranny out of a 1990 2.9 regular cab ranger will swap out with a manual 1990 2.9 extended cab? i have an extra and i just hope it will fit.

Yeah....shouldn't be a problem. Reg. Cab to Super Cab is the same tranny. The only thing that woud differ is if it were 4x2 or 4x4. The tail housings would be different.

4x4 on both of them. the one that i think is going out is making a chirping/whining noise in 1,2,&3 gear and it is getting worse. sometimes in highway speed it makes a noise similar but faster. it makes these noises even if i put in the clutch but usually to get rid of the squeel i put in the clutch and then just drop it and it goes away.
