Just got some Flowmasters put on and now the catalytic converter rattles and is ruining the sound. The rattle is coming from the first catalytic Converter. Since I can't just crack it open, what could I do to stop the rattling?

Replacing it would be the easiest.

check to see if the heat shield is loose and if that fails you can unbolt and drop it down to see if you can see whats rattling inside

i bet its the heat shield, wrap a big hose clamp around it to shut it up,worked on my truck

yeah chevk the heat shield. if its not that then most likely the cat is shot. i have DPS crown vics come in for the same thing. if you leave it alone then eventually the plate inside will actually plug part of your exhaust and cause you to lose a good amount of power

get rid of it and sell it

i cut the heat shield off.... it already had a close hanger tied around it

check the heat shield for starters...was it rattling before the Flowmasters were installed?

My guess is heat shield also. Do the try the Hose Clamp idea, worked on two of my trucks.
