Vaccum Line Diagram.....

I need to find a better diagram of the vaccum lines for an 88 that that cheezy one on the radiator support under the hood. Anyone know were you can find one maybe even some good old high tech pictures for low tech people ;brownbag;

I don't think they get any better than what's on the cross memeber. Are you running a 2.0 or 2.3? The vac diagram for the 2.0 is a freaking mess compared to the 2.3...and if you are I'd suggest seriously considering moving to either fuel injection or a 2.3 setup that is about ten times as simple...

Your truck is 20 years old now, btw, and some places excempt or reduce emission test standards for vehicles that old...in Canada they are almost non-existent...

2.3L Fuel Injected. I wished I was exempt. I've got 5 more years before its exempt here in Washington state. By then we should have air cars! :icon_surprised:

A lot of this smog equipment doesn't make any sense to me pumping exhaust back into the intake! Hmm if you didn't burn all of the fuel the first time through maybe you gave it to much fuel? I've got an 80 pinto I'm driving back and forth to work until I get my engine back for my Ranger. Its exempt and I'm really itching to make some mods on it. Cam, Header, Intake, Holley 350 carb, larger valves port the head & intake. I'm also looking into a different head a Volvo 4 vavle aluminum twin cam head that can be adapted to the little 2.3L videos on Youtube about it. ND performance has the best description of all that needs to be done to complete the mod. Looks like a little Cosworth when its done. They sound pretty sweet :3gears:

I hope those mods are for the Pinto and not the Ranger...but modding a Ranger engine is about the same...does the Pinto have the 2.0 or 2.3?

I've read quite a bit about the 2.0 engine and it sounds like a fun toy to play with...haven't seen too much on the Volvo head but someone on here years ago adapted one and it worked well...

Just curious now, but why do you need a diagram of the vacuum for the Ranger? Even with mods (except going to a carb) the vac diagram for the FI should work just the same.

If you are going to a carb setup, the vacuum is a bit different, but essentially the same...except the 2.0 Ranger carb setup...stay away from that if you want to keep your sanity...that's the main reason why I ditched the 2.0 carb in the first place...
