my 2.3 is sick

I have a 96 ranger supercab 5 spd my timing belt broke and everysince the truck will not accelerate past 40 mph. I have checked plugs,wires,coils, even a temperature sensor. the guys at the shop i have it are scratching ther heads. Someone please help miss my truck
 
sounds like they have the belt off a tooth or two. recheck the timing belt.

we have have checked the timing at least 5x's anything else i can check
