EGR valve location?

on a 93 ranger, 3.0L, v6, at, is there a picture of this engine with the valve on it anywhere?, my service manual is no help., truck failing smog and I think egr valve is missing.

Some of the 3.0L Rangers never were equipped with egr valves. I think it depends on the emissions package or where the vehicle was geographically sold. If it were to have one it would be located on the upper intake manifold.
I have a 1992 3.0L Ranger, 2wd, 5-speed it it has a block off plate from the factory on the upper intake. The emissions diagram sticker under the hood confirms that this is a factory set up as it depicts no egr valve in the system.
